Strategy 2020 of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement aims to better fulfill the potential of the Red Cross, Red Crescent at all levels, and to develop sustainable approaches in addressing three key areas disaster, health risks and social exclusion.Crucially, it highlights that coping with increasing humanitarian needs will also require a change in mind-sets and attitudes to how we live, and relate to each other

Professor N. R. Shetty has been nominated as Vice President for Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch for the tenure of 2 years. Mr. Shetty has served as Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University (1993-99). He is presently serving as Chairman, Karnataka State University Review Commission and Sir, M. Visveswaraya Foundation, Bangalore He is also the Vice chairman of Society for Bharat Ratna Sir. M.Visveswaraya National Training Facility for Skills for All (BMV NTFSA)
